Beneath the green veil hides
A tragedy
Left to wither and die
Consumed and rotting,
Failing, broken, a cancer no one sees
A desolate lullaby
That we've all harmonized
We are the crows
And on our homes we feed

Mighty oaks once touched the sky
Ancient sentinels old and wise
How can it be?
That we could decide
We are autonomous from nature
No concern for what will be
A world we despised
The only gift we leave behind
An erosion of life
By a living disease

Gods we are not
But devils we've become
Destroying all
With every breath we breathe
A plague we are
And a plague we'll forever be
This poison beneath the green veil seethes

Witness through callous eyes
As we commit matricide
Yet cannot see
The hollow left behind
An empty shell has become
An inescapable destiny
Our roots have spread wide
Injecting death deep inside
